There were many beautiful flowers and scarce animals in the Northland where was separated from main continent in the middle ages. One day, the queen of Northland declared a proposal. There was a pound of gold bullion would be offered for someone who can capture a precious bird in the Black Forest. The precious bird was endangered and its feather can be made into beautiful coats, thus, the queen of Northland aspired to capture this kind of bird. But this kind of bird fly as fast as light that everybody know that they can’t capture the bird by all means.

A man, whose name was John, was notorious for his greedy and selfish personality. But he is not good at hunting; he decided to find someone to assist him. “I should find someone who is foolhardy and always follow my commands, but who? ”John murmured to himself. Suddenly, three men whose name was Berry Brothers passed by. Because they were honest, loyal and clumsy men, John decided to invite them to join the hunting game.

Of course Berry Brothers promised him to help him to hunt the precious bird. The news spread throughout all continent of Northland soon. Then, Ken heard the news. Since the queen of Northland declared the news, Ken appeared in Northland. He was very mysterious and no one knew why he showed up in Northland. But he is so kind, handsome and gentle that the residents in Northland liked him very much.

When Ken heard the news, he decided to visit John; he prepared his bow and arrow then went to visit John.

“Who are you?” said John. “My name is Ken, I’m a sharpshooter, I heard you intending to go to Black Forest and I think I can help you to capture the bird, so I hope I can go with you, can I join you?” said Ken. “How can you prove yourself that you are a sharpshooter?” said John. Then, Ken went outdoors and shoot a deer at ease. “OK! You can join us.” Said John.

Next day, they went into the black forest and started the task of hunting the precious bird. Two days later, they didn’t find any trace of the previous bird. They were hungry, thirsty and tired at that moment. They felt disappointed and frustrated also. For a long while, the brilliant bird appeared. The feather of the bird is colorful; no wonder the queen of Northland coveted it. “Berry brothers, go encircling the bird, and ken, capture it!” said John.

After they finished catching the precious bird, they left the Black Forest and went to John’s house to hold a party. “Everything is on the house here!” said John. When everybody enjoyed the food and the delighted atmosphere after catching the precious bird, Ken went to the kitchen furtively and put some sleeping pill into wine. Then he went back calmly and said, “What a wonderful night, I congratulate you for getting a pound of gold bullion, let’s drink some wine to celebrate!” Then they drank happily.

After John and Berry brothers drank the wine, one minute later, they felt asleep. Thirty seconds later, they couldn’t concentrate on anything. Fifteen seconds later, they were sleeping!! At that time, Ken said,” I am actually a conservationist in birds; you can’t contribute this beautiful birds to the queen of Northland and take the reward that you shouldn’t take.” Then, Ken left the house with the beautiful and precious bird.

Three months later, the queen has become anxious and furious waiting the precious bird. Besides, winter is coming. She needs the coat against the chilly winds. Thus, the queen appoints a group of fierce and well-trained troops to find the precious bird. And the queen also announces a new law－”Anyone who can find the precious bird will receive a cup of gold and ten beauties.” When ken hears the law, he knows that the queen is brutal. She won’t award the gold. Many people choose to flee at this very moment, but Ken, as an ecological activist, he chooses to take on the responsibility and maybe change this material society.

The next morning, ken heads for the palace. He then explains the importance of the bird. “Actually, these kinds of birds are heroes in our ecology. They provide us with numerous advantages. Then he tells the queen,” You can not literally make these birds to death, as if they were less than a life.” Right this moment, hundreds of people gather in front of the palace. They never hear this concept before, they do not consider bird as life ever before. They should understand the importance between human and animals, only human show respect toward the nature and other creatures can they maintain a balance relationship in the whole world. Out of surprise and gratitude, the queen make this day, 22, April as global bird holiday, GBH.

Freshmen

Dear freshmen. Time’s flying; you are freshmen of this college! No matter which senior high you’re in, or how good is your united test, they all pasted, they are not important anymore. I’m not going to tell you something big, and I am not going to lecture you, I am here to show you something essential, they may be some creeds, some ideas, and something valuable, maybe a dream, in your lives.

At the beginning, you have to figure out the curriculums of your departments, what you have to learn, and what you want to learn from it. It’s very important; some people don’t know why they major in Chinese, French, or Economy before the commencement. That’s a pity. Knowledge is a beautiful stuff. Try to search some information of the classes, and see if there are some connections between your classes and the world, some global issues, I mean. For example, I majored Chinese in college, and I noticed that Chinese have drawn the whole world’s attraction, the American learn Chinese, and the European people learn Chinese, too! Thus, I took some extra curriculums in Chinese Education; this decision helped me find my first job in Canada. In addition, I was also interested in German, that’s because music uses German to express and communicate, and I play the piano and I attended the guitar club in college. German is annoying and demanding, I felt frustrated. However, when I traveled to Berlin last summer, my fluent German made me get the job in the bookstore. Learning languages help me develop some groundbreaking point of views, the independent thinking, and the assets in communication.

Besides, the peer relation is also a difficult but also beautiful part in the college. Try to meet different people in the college, don’t be an isolated person, friends will help you a lot in the right time. Something special is, the people in college are not that simple in high school. That is, the people you meet in college come from everywhere in this country, they might be strange, weird or very smart. In my opinion, nice team spirit is a prominent part in the world. If you major in movie, try to find someone who is good at machine-operating, like people major Electronic Engineering and you can cooperate with the person accomplished in Art.

College life is exciting, glittering, charming, but sometimes might be tricky, too. The world is so big and there are so many things waiting for you to explore. Remember, learn hard, play hard. Stay hungry, stay foolish.

Dear Mary,

My life in Ireland is wonderful; I studied English so hard in Taiwan so that I don’t have bid problems in communication. Besides, I made a lot of friends in the preschool. They are all amiable and versatile, and some of them even can speak easy Chinese! In addition, I attended a band here; I play the guitar and do the vocalist sometimes. Last weekend, my Ireland friends invited me to a live concert play by the hottest band in Ireland, The Frames. The performance is magnificent! I even got a autograph by the vocalist, Glen Hansard! The curriculums here are great and interesting! Things in Ireland amuse me to no end!

However, now I face a problem, a difficult choice. Should I go or should stay? Lives here is comfortable, interesting, the weather is temperate. In the other hand, I am not sure if my expensive expense here gives pressure to my parents. Besides, I don’t like Taiwan’s education, but I don’t know if I can enter a good college here! I am confused, please give me some honest advices, and don’t afraid that I’ll get angry! Just say what you really feel!

Leadership

In my opinion, to be a good leader should possess at least the following reasons.

   First, he or she need to have individual personalities, that is, the leader must have some distinct point of view. And always be honest, avoid superficial acting. A person follows the tide won’t make a difference and change. Like the directors, announcers.  

   Second, leaders must have strong passion on their careers; it’s always a question about passion, not a question about money. In addition, a person with intense motivation to his work has more chances to do it better. As long as you love what you’re doing, that’s half way to success!  

   Eventually, leaders should develop chrematistics, such as appeal to reason, take everything into account, make things once and for all, clear-cut, and leaders should be considerable and always think about the followers. They need to know that there are still lots of people suffering and confusing.

   In fact, the leaders in different areas have different functions. The president is totally different from a director. However, we must know that to be a leader who acts better-than-expect is not an easy thing.     

The best movie i have ever seen

The best movie I have ever seen is “Once”. It is a maverick art movie produced by Ireland. Unlike the blockbusters in Hollywood, “Once” adopted a serene and literal way to unveil the valuable musical spirits and unpredictable varies between us.

   The story described a man in Ireland, poor but versatile, singing and playing guitar on the street. He wished he can release his own album. Then, he met a girl accomplished in playing piano. They both very lonely and disappointed by the social, however, the passion in music gave them strong power to preserve. Eventually, they end up in keep pursuing their dream and treasure the affection in their heart.

   The movie showed the naked hardworking in doing music. But they both believed in their selves. That’s the attitude that matters so important.

The lesson I Have Learned in New York

         I used to be a shy and dependent girl before 8 years old. If you asked me when is the happiest time in your life to date? I will answer: In New York when I was 8 without thinking. The reason  I can answer so firm is that I learn a lot in that time and changed into a  different person from then on.

       I attended a summer camp in New York with my sister. My parents hoped that I can improve my English skill and develop my global standpoint. At the beginning, I was very scared and reluctantly. However, I changed my mind right after the nice America teacher  told me to enjoy the camp and open my mind, in that way I can make more friends and learn new things. The most important thing is: I must try.

        After the embrassed two days, I improved quickly. The big sister in the camp teach me how to swim. At first, I was afraid. However, I remember the words teacher talked to me. In the end, I tried and got a good experience.

        I also learned how to build a wooden-house. I didn’t have any experiences about that but I want to try. From collecting woods to consisting them, I learned how to accomplish a work with somebody else. In addition, I got the imformations of how to select woods in a easy and fast way.

        The unforgotable thing is, the lesson I have learned in independence, and the skill of solving problems. Teachers planned a celebration before we left. Everyone has to pass the obstacles and got the cup in the riddle. I was the fastest child who got it.

         Now I am a happy, brave, indenpendent teenager. And I would like to open my mind to accept new things. In that way, I can learn more than others. The most important thing is: I will try in anytime. Thanks to the summer camp in New York. It teached me more than any other books did.

Having a Part-Time Job

         I agree a student could have a part-time job.

In America and Europe, it is very common for students to take part-time job while they are still in high school. However, In Taiwan, students are expected to spend all of their time on homework. In my opinion, students can benefit from variety life experiences, which may include a part-job in it. Thus, I believe that it is a good idea and opportunity for high school student to have an appropriate, safe part-time job.

While it is true that a student’s most important thing should be learn well, it does not need to be the only goal. As a matter of fact, only cares about studies is not a good balance in school life. I think: having a part-time job can provide students a wider vision. As the importance of global standpoint increasing day by day, we should go out of the classrooms and experience the life meanings by ourselves. Learning will never stop; however, schools can only give students basic tools to start the learning journey. I think students should find their own interests beyond the schools. And, a part-time job will be a nice choice.

In addition, having a part-time job can also help students to develop better independence. Earning our own allowance can teach us how to handle the financial problems. We can learn to organize the financial in a young age and may prepare for our university life. The most important thing is: I think through this way of handle our own money we will grow up and consider ourselves an adult.

As I stated before, having a part-time job could let the students form a better sense of responsibilities while we consider ourselves as an adult. In the other hand, students can meet variety people, make connections with them and in that way, I believe that we will learn more and absorb more than the books can make us do.

For all of these reasons, I firmly believe that most of the students would benefit from a good part-time job.

  

A loving actress

         Lindsay is a girl  who is very optimistic and beautiful. Everyone loves her and admires her. I think she will be a great actress in the future.

         First , Lindsay is very sensitive and can always understand others feelings. She is very charming,too. Everyone will look at her and attracted by her . She is also a emotional person, she can reveal her mood clearly that we have no need to guess again and again. However, she is able to control her behaivor easily. While meeting challenges, Lindsay will not give up easily but overcome the obstacles by using confidence and bravery. I think her high anti-pressured will provide a good attitude toward those difficult performs.

          In addition, Lindsay is a open-minded girl, she would like to accept the opinions from other people. Lindsay love changes and challenges. She thinks changes can bring some opportunities and challenges can make her improve.

          Lindsay has a nuture beauty that you will never forget. In my opinion, she is the ideal person to be a performer.
